The footage was released by the Independent Investigations Division (IID) of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, who is investigating the case with help from the Maryland State Police Crash Team.

Footage shows the Montgomery County Police officers attempting to stop a white Nissan Maxima near Bucknell Drive and Cambridge Park Court in Wheaton around 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13.

During the attempted stop, the Nissan hit a marked Montgomery County Police car and sped off.

Officers pursued the Nissan northbound on Georgia Avenue for about a mile and a half before the driver struck a median, entered the southbound lanes of Georgia Avenue, and collided with two vehicles at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Henderson Avenue.

The Nissan driver, an adult male, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, while his passenger, a juvenile male, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers and one passenger in the other two vehicles were taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. None of the officers were injured.

The investigation is ongoing, authorities said. Scroll down to view the full video clip.
